Urmila Matondkar stops show for Waman Hari Pathe Jewellers


Bollywood actor Urmila Matondkar was the showstopper for Waman Hari Pathe's (WHP) new 'Navinya' fusion concept jewellery here.

Attired in a black and beige gown designed by Archana Kochchar, Matondkar displayed the range designed to please the aesthetic sense with a combination of traditional and new elements here last evening.

The collection has traditional motifs prevalent in Maharashtrian jewellery like Bakuli flowers, Saaz, Thushi, Bor Mala from the Peshwa era and blended with contemporary trendy designs in gold and precious stones.

The country’s top models including Aanchal Kumar, Alicia Raut, Amruta Patki, Maushmi Badra, Dimple Patel, Aseef Merchant and Sajida Virji also walked the ramp with the collection, while dance choreographer Sandeep Sorparkar and his wife model Jesse Randhawan performed a dance routine.

Speaking to the media, Matondkar said she loved jewellery, not as an item of investment, but as something to wear.

"I love to wear jewellery, and would like to pick some up, whenever I get the time. My favourite from the Navinya collection were the solitaire, frame and bracelet pieces," she said.

The century old WHP, also launched their website on the occasion.
